Lamination Designer

The Opportunity

As a member of a multilevel engineering team, you will create 3D Solidworks models of laminated & powder coated busbars. Work with the engineering team to review design concepts, and communicate with the customer as required. Prepare drawings and files for manufacturing. Make recommendations to improve processes and yields, reduce costs and improve quality.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing, modifying, and creating 3D Solidworks models & 2D CAD drawings
  • Product transfer from customer drawings/models to Solidworks
  • Structurally building product assemblies and BOMs in Solidworks
  • The ability to design around components quickly and proficiently
  • Verify all parts are designed for manufacturability
  • Work with production staff to provide technical support, solve problems.
  • Assisting in other administrative duties related to Engineering
  • Ability to interact effectively through speech, writing, and professional presentation.
  • The ability to execute tasks and take direction
  • Demonstrates the ability to independently solve multifaceted issues


  • Proficient in Solidworks modeling software & functionally skilled with AutoCAD
  • Sheet metal & machined part design experience with knowledge of fabrication practices
  • Must be able to read and decipher blueprints, GD&T and surface finishes
  • Use of multiple measuring devices; calipers, micrometers, height gauge
  • 1-2 years design for manufacturing experience
  • Willingness and ability to learn

  • Must be able to work individually and in a team environment
