Available positions require all or most of the following as part of the job description. Other requirements are listed separately. Experience not required, but helpful.

  • Understand and use a computer.
  • Understand and use the Barcam scanning system, scan for job time and/or material scrap.
  • Understand the basics of reading dimensional drawings (prints).
  • Communicate with other departments effectively.
  • Fill out work orders, tracking logs, and/or quality documentation.
  • Keep machine and area clean using the 5S technique.
  • Move to other areas to help when requested.

Positions Available: All shifts are a 3 day work week.

"A" Shift  -  5:30am - 5:30pm  MON-WED

Brake Operator - 2 openings.

  • Responsible for the bending and shaping of parts that require forming.
  • Understand and use all forming presses.
  • Be able to retrieve and install tooling, some of which may require heavy lifting.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment, including calipers and tape measures, height gauges, and protractors.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been formed.

Packing - 2 openings.

  • Responsible for wrapping, boxing, crating, and identifying parts to prepare them to ship to customers.
  • Be able to retrieve required boxes or crates based on part sizes, quantities, and customer requirements.
  • Understand and use the plastic heat shrink unit.
  • Identify and organize parts and determine packaging methods.

Haas Mill Operator (CNC) - 1 opening.

  • Responsible for fabrication of raw materials.
  • Basic understanding of the Haas Milling Center.
  • Understand tooling requirements.
  • Understand clamps and fixtures, their retrieval and installation.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, angle gages, tape measures and surface smoothness testers.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been fabricated.

Quality Inspector – 1 opening.

  • Understand and use all measurement and monitoring
    equipment.
  • Use basic mathematical skills, including knowledge of fractions and decimals, to measure part dimensions.
  • Have a firm understanding of reading and interpreting dimensional drawings (prints).
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been inspected.
  • Ability to prioritize job requirements based on production needs.
  • Communicate with process engineers, operators, production supervisors, and quality supervisors concerning quality related production issues.
  • Be able to make minor decisions on day to day, hour to hour basis concerning quality issue, understand when major decisions need to be handled by a higher quality control authority, and know the difference between the two.

 

"B" Shift  -  5:30pm - 5:30am  MON-WED

Brake Operator - 2 openings.

  • Responsible for removal of sharp edges from a part, either resulting from cutting or punching.
  • Understand and use the belt sanders, Almco or Timesaver (known as the Ramco) machines.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been deburred.

Quality Inspector – 1 opening.

  • Understand and use all measurement and monitoring
    equipment.
  • Use basic mathematical skills, including knowledge of fractions and decimals, to measure part dimensions.

  • Understand how to and be aware of the risks of dielectric (Hipot) testing.
  • Have knowledge and be able to use testing equipment for powder thickness.
  • Locate, identify, and understand MSDS.
  • Be aware of the hazards of painting.
  • Take inventory of paint/painting materials.

 

"C" Shift -  5:30am - 5:30pm  THU-SAT

  • Basic understanding of computers and machinist techniques.
  • Basic understanding of the Haas Lathe Milling Center.
  • Understand tooling requirements.
  • Understand clamps and fixtures, their retrieval and installation.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, angle gauges, tape measures and surface smoothness testers.
  • Firm grasp on reading dimensional drawings (prints).
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been finished.

BBM Operator (punch machine) - 1 opening.

  • Understand and use the BBM punch press.
  • Be able to organize and build the punch tooling for the BBM.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment, including calipers and tape measures.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been punched.

Masking - 1 opening.

  • Responsible for masking parts to be powder coated or plated.
  • Understand the masking procedure.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment, including calipers, tape measures and height gauge.
  • Identify the masking dimensions.
  • Using calipers or height gauge mark part per print.
  • Use foil or masking tape to cover area not to be painted or plated. Make sure edges are sealed where paint or plating will not seep on sealed part.

Powder Coat - 1 opening.

  • Understand and use all equipment used in applying powder coat to parts.
  • Understand and use the Barcam scanning system, including scanning for job time and scrapping of material.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been powder coated.
  • Understand the basics of reading dimensional drawings (prints) along with customer supplied powder specifications.

Laminated Parts - 2 openings.

  • Define the general work guidelines on the assembly of laminated bus components.
  • Be able to review and understand work orders and specific instructions defined in the narrative of Lamination operations.
  • Review all components in the assembly to make sure they have been completed appropriately/.
  • Be able to assemble all completed components into the fixture per the work order and prints.
  • Hi-Pot testing per work order.

Waterjet Operator - 1 opening.

  • Understand and use the waterjet.
  • Organize tooling and communicate with the tool crib on ordering tooling.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment, including calipers, tape measures, and angle gauges.
  • Be proficient in programming the waterjet.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been cut by the waterjet.

Pems (Small Press) Operator - 1 opening.

  • Understand and use all punch presses.
  • Be able to retrieve and install pem press tooling.
  • Understand and use measuring equipment and plug gauges.
  • Identify, organize, and route jobs that have been pressed.
  • Communicate with material clerks, process engineers, QC Inspectors, maintenance, and supervisors.

Plating - 2 Openings.

  • Be able to understand and use all equipment used in applying plating to parts.
  • Have basic mathematical skills to calculate plating amperages.
  • Be able to read and understand customer supplied plating specifications and ASTM plating specifications.
  • Locate, identify, and understand MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).
  • Be aware of the hazards of lead (lead plating). (Storm provides proper PPE.)
  • Remove plating bath chemicals and clean tanks as required.
